Don’t use too many banner advertisements

The present visitors are far advanced than what we used to have in the early 2000 or so. Now a day’s viewers simply ignore any kind of advertisements. By getting excessive banners ads you are simply wasting your time and money. A better solution here would be to put in some quality content and then get affiliate links into that content.

Have a simple and clear navigation

Be sure to provide your users very simple and straightforward navigation menus.  How simple? You have to make it simple for a young kid to reach wherever he wants to go into your site. Please do make it a point to stay away from all those flash and other tiered menu system. They are simply ridiculous.

When you are designing a website you need to ensure that every single thing falls in proper order and thus achieves a level where it can’t malfunction. Though this is hard to achieve, there are some simple rules that you can follow and get rid of this issue.

Never use splash pages

Splash page is the first page that a visitor finds when he or she arrives at your site. These pages are often characterized by click here to enter or welcome type buttons. Believe me these are the biggest turn off for the users and there is every possible chance that you might be losing good number of visitors due to this.
